Growing Bin is, without a doubt, one of our favourite German record labels. For their second 7” release it’s strictly family business as Peter and Patrick Jahn drop some father and son slow boogie with a killer split release.
Back in 1987 Jahn senior recorded but never released the original version of ‘Abenteuer überm Schrank’, a smooth slo-mo jam of strolling synth bass, clipped funk guitar and seaside melancholy so warm you can almost feel the Mediterranean lapping at your feet.
Fast forward 33 years and a rummage through some dusty old boxes and Patrick Jahn found and recovered the demo from a damaged tape. On one side is the original and on the flip, we have Patrick Jahn’s take on his father’s track, which serves up a warm percussive sway, moonlit keys and beefy bass tones.
This sunkissed Balearic beauty is most definetly what we all need right now!
As with everything they do, this is the next level kind of quality you would expect from Growing Bin. Buy here.
