Tenderlonious announces new EP, Tender in Lahore

TENDER IN LAHORE.Flautist, saxophonist, producer and 22a label boss Tenderlonious (aka Ed Cawthorne) is releasing a new EP, titled Tender in Lahore, via his 22a imprint on 20th May.

Recorded at the Riot Studios in Lahore last year, you can stream the first glimpse titled ‘Impressions’ below. If you’re feeling a bit stressed at the moment, this is the perfect soundtrack to rid you of your negative vibes.

The EP features three improvised ragas with Tenderlonious on flute/soprano sax and Marek Pędziwiatr on synth, alongside Jaubi members Kashif Ali Dhani on tabla/vocals and Zohaib Hassan Khan on sarangi.

The project serves as just a small taster for the recording sessions during Tenderlonious’ time in Lahore. The fruits of these sessions will be unveiled on a new Jaubi album entitled ‘Nafs At Peace’, which is set for release on Astigmatic Records later this year.

Tender in Lahore follows the news that Tenderlonious will also release an EP next month in homage to British Jazz legend Tubby Hayes called The Piccolo – Tender Plays Tubby.

We can’t wait to hear the rest of this record, so far, it sounds incredible! Pre-order here.
