JK Group is a nu-jazz band led by Melbourne saxophonist Josh Kelly, best known for his work with future soul-jazz collective, 30/70.

The new project sees him working alongside longtime 30/70 collaborators, Matt Hayes and Ziggy Zeitgeist as well as keys player/producer Lewis Moody (Z*F*E*X, Sex on Toast).

A group with players this good was never going to be anything other than exceptional, and so it proves. With blistering sax, hard-hitting grooves, and jazzy keys floating throughout their confident swagger is abound on their new track ‘Seeds’.

With a sound that sees Kelly joining the dots between raw live jazz and electronic music, he respectfully draws on classic jazz traditions while carving a path that unashamedly looks towards the future.

Take a listen to ‘Seeds’ below and be on the lookout for their upcoming LP ‘The Young Ones’ dropping via La Sape on 27th March. Pre-order here
