New Sounds: Leif – Igam-Ogam EP

Leif shares new music.

Closing their year out in fine style Livity Sound share a new EP from Freerotation resident and UntilMyHeartStops co-founder, Leif.

Fresh from delving into his more off-kilter rhythmical side for his TIO Series, this new EP titled ‘Igam-Ogam’ continues in the same exploratory fashion finding Leif in drum mode, creating brilliantly complex and intricate sounds spearheaded by percussive sounds.

The results are fantastic on the title track and ‘First Image’ layered drums fill both cuts which touch on hosue and techno with equal lashings of warm grooves, deep bass and hazy synths. Then there’s closing track ‘Seeker’, a cosmic journey between tribal percussion and hypnotising electronic instrumentation, that carries a psychedelic trippy effect.

Igam-Ogam EP

Always the musical adventurer in February of next year, Leif will perform a new live soundtrack to an Andy Warhol portrait film series Screen Tests at The Barbican’s cinema. The music explores the more ambient/experimental side of his sound, expanding on musical themes hinted at in his latest album, Loom Dream, released on Whities.

We can’t wait for the soundtrack – for now though, tuck into ‘Igam-Ogam’ below!
