London based multi-instrumentalist, and producer Emma-Jean Thackray wowed us from the moment we heard her Walrus EP a few years back, so much so that we named her as an Artist To Watch in 2108!
Deftly marrying her warm tones with vibrant jazz melodies, bright keys and exquisite percussive touches splashed around in the colourful soundscape, EJT continues to wow us with ‘Too Shy’, a track first heard as part of Makaya McCraven’s 2018 mixtape Where We Come From.
Now unleashed in its fullest form the reworked track is backed by another cut from the original CHICAGOxLONDON Mixtape, a reimagining of McCraven’s ‘Run ‘Dem’ by the one and only Gilles Peterson.
The track is another example why Emma-Jean Thackray is one of the most exciting artists around.
