Vula Viel announce new LP with single ‘My Own Skin’ | Video collaboration with Dora The Drawer

London trio Vula Viel have announced their third LP ‘What’s Not Enough About That’ will arrive next year on 7th February.

The trio continues their sonic explorations around the gyil, the wooden xylophone of the Dagaare from Upper West Ghana.

To give us a little taste of what’s to come, the band has shared the visual for the LP’s lead track ‘My Own Skin’ which you can watch up top.

‘My Own Skin’ celebrates mindfulness and our uniqueness as people: “Even not fitting in, I am comfortable in my own skin” – the video shot by Louise Boer sees the trio performing live while visual artist Dora Lam takes a live portrait of the song.

Recorded at London’s Fish Factory the new album features New York trombone player and composer Peter Zummo and Ghanaian palm-wine legend Koo Nimo.
