No better way to end the day. New York duo Justin Tripp and Brian Close will share their latest work tomorrow, a sprawling 40-minute release titled Side Tracks.
The duo who record under the name of Georgia intially created the templates for the two tracks individually. Across the record you’ll hear field recordings of roosters in New Mexico to sculpted synthetic sounds, the specificity of this source material led them to create a dense yet homogenous landscape that is explored over the album’s two sublime tracks.
You can stream the 20 mintue long opening track, Hassan below. The press release states that the song is “an ode to nature, a digital reflection on the organic.” It’s a minimal yet equally striking piece that exudes a sense of calm. With twinkling melodies, modulating percussion and ambient inflections, the sound is ever-evolving.
The release is available digitally and on limited edition cassette with full coverage layered artwork by New York artist Grave. Full on-body printing on both cassette case and cassette, as well as beautiful black obi strip.
Side Tracks is out tomorrow. Click here to order a copy, and check out the artwork and tracklisting under the Bandcamp player.
