Albrecht La’Brooy, the Melbourne-based duo of Sean ’La’Brooy and Alex Albrecht, is gearing up to release a new album called Healesville, next week.
Recorded in a mud-brick hut on a strawberry crop in the Melbourne countryside the record’s nine tracks are a delicate fusion of ambient electronic textures, live instrumentation and field recordings.
The album features contributions from percussionist Joseph Batrouney, guitarist Carla Oliver (Badskin) and guitarist Oliver Patterson. Across the record, the duo uses their favoured musical equipment, which includes two pianos, a Waldorf, a Nord and an array of microphones to create their long-form improvisations.
Our first taste of the forthcoming album comes in the form of Afternoon Carafe, a delicate, blissful, and ever so relaxing offering.
The Healesville LP drops on July 26th via Apollo Records. Pre-order it here.
