Myele Manzanza reveals third album, A Love Requited

Twistedsoul - Myele Manzanza

Taken off his upcoming third album Myele Manzanza new track ‘Itaru’s Phone Booth’ is everything and more.

It’s an impeccably arresting and reflective track that was inspired by the true story of a phone box in a small Japanese town called Itaru that became a place to communicate with belated loved ones following the Japanese tsunami and earthquake of 2011.

Produced with award-winning Australian bassist and longtime musical collaborator Ross McHenry, his new album called ‘A Love Requited’  brings his skills as a composer to the fore. The LP sees him connect with an array of New Zealand and Australia’s finest young instrumentalists.

Using music as therapy the album helped Manzanza work through and come to terms with the life around him.

”A Love Requited’ is easily my most personal work to date and my hope is that beyond the music itself it may be of help to others, if only to say that your not alone in your struggle to make sense of the world.”

This is a magical return from a truly gifted artist – this might just be his best offering to date.

A Love Requited will be available on vinyl & digital from 28/06 with First Word Records. Pre-order from Bandcamp.
