Bouncy and full of vibrant sounds, the latest release from Tokyo collective Ajate has us hitting the replay button! It’s two years since the Junichiro “John” Imaeda led band shared their fantastic debut album Abrada which was swiftly followed by two highly acclaimed European tours.

If you’re new to Ajate, the group consists of 10 Japanese musicians who play a unique blend of afro-groove dance music mixed with Japanese traditional festival music called “Ohayashi”.

For their new release, they’ve teamed up with French groovers NY.Ko, for two sublime slices of Afrofunk floor-moving, delights with so much groove that you can’t help but shake your hips to them. Beatmaker and DJ Deheb also serves up his reworkings of both tracks.

Funky and upbeat the two tracks ‘Mammamelie’ and ‘With Regularity’ are the first glimpse of their brand new album set for release later in the year. Pre-order the EP here.
