A world away from those jazzy jams his debut solo EP introduces the listener to his electronic solo project. Across I Am Chiminyo each track is performed on live drums, which then trigger synth sounds – no loops or backing tracks. Evocative of drum and bass legends such as LTJ Bukem and echoing the likes of Squarepusher and DJ Shadow, this is the ultimate definition of Chiminyo’s sound and style.
Driven by his powerful drums, the tracks are raw and rugged with sparks of electronics coming out of every corner to keep you on edge at all times.
