Between The Cracks: 5 New Releases You Need To Hear

This week's list of essential new albums incudes Pinty, King Midas Sound, TwoSpeak and more.

With so much good music coming through thick and fast, it’s easy for brand-new music to drop online and go overlooked. To help prevent this, we’ve picked five unmissable releases that we think you need to hear. Stream music from King Midas Sound, Maurice Louca, Houssam Gania, Pinty, and TwoSpeak. If you like what you hear, hit the links and support the artists.

King Midas Sound – Solitude

The Bug (aka Kevin Martin), and poet Roger Robinson recently returned under the guise of King Midas Sound for a new album, ‘Solitude’. The 12-track LP is their first release since Fennesz collaboration Edition1 on Ninja Tune which dropped in 2015. Across the record, Martin provides a predominantly beatless musical backdrop, simultaneously minimal and menacing, but periodically extremely beautiful. It stalks the isolated characters created by Robinson’s haunting vocals; as the poet shapes, the protagonists troubled lives into increasingly desolate narratives. Welcome to solitude…
