KOKOROKO’s self-titled EP next on Brownswood Recordings

KOKOROKO’s self-titled, debut EP is being released this March via Brownswood.

London jazz group KOKOROKO takes us for a delightful ride with their brand-new track ‘Uman’, and it’s a beauty of a tune. The song is the first taste from the band’s self-titled EP, coming out on March 8th via Brownswood.

Led by bandleader Sheila Maurice-Grey, the 4-track EP is the group’s first solo release, following ‘Abusey Junction’, the band’s contribution to the We Out Here compilation.

The group we’re told is inspired by “Fela Kuti, Ebo Taylor, Tony Allen and the great sounds that come out of West Africa.”

Stream ‘Uman’ above it’s a perfect showcase of what we can expect from their upcoming EP. While your at it link back below to a live version of ‘Abusey Junction easily one of my favourite tracks from last year.
