It’s been a few years since Theon Cross released a solo project. Back in 2015, he released the Aspirations EP and now he returns with ‘Panda Village’, and news that he plans to host a number of new releases in 2019.
Featuring Moses Boyd on drums and Nubya Garcia on saxophone, the track is an explosion of sounds, which sees the frequent collaborators concocting vibrant jazz and Afrobeat grooves that are quite simply unbeatable.
A blast from start to end the trio is a match made in heaven from Cross’ heart-pounding tuba to Boyd’s celestial percussion all encased in the swirling sax flurries of Garcia this track is absolute fire.
