Mildlife release new 7″ single ‘Phase II’ via Research Records

Mildlife have released new single ‘Phase II’ on 7″ vinyl via Research Records. The song was inspired by the album track ‘Phase’ from their eponymous debut record that was released earlier this year. Artist, Dan Wild, explains the excellent video that illustrates the new song:

“The intention for the ‘Phase II’ video was to traverse constructed landscapes that follow the track’s progression. Visually I wanted to pull focus through artificial forests, canyons and clouds. Pushing the concept of an abstracted first-person journey that I feel the band is presenting with the song.

Combining hand-drawn animation and analog video processing techniques gives the video a tactile feeling that compliments the tracks long-form nature. I felt the music was able to breathe by using these techniques, I was very conscious of the video becoming either too overpowering or underwhelming.”
