South London artist William ‘NuJazz’ Doran aka Chongo comes to us with his new release Visions in Non-Retrograde.
On his new EP, Chongo the talented and prolific (check out his Bandcamp) musician cooks up another blissful project which further showcases this guy’s talents.
Still unknown in most circles but well respected amongst the London free jazz scene, Chongo is an artist who pushes the barriers of sound into new dimensions. Through repairing old analog equipment, he finds scattered on the streets of South London he has crafted a sound and style unique to his own.
Taking influence from the London free jazz scene, Chongo crafts a beautiful soundtrack to move the genre forward by drawing on house music, broken beat and bossa nova.
Tracks like ‘Sempre em meu coração’, ‘Vai siempre’, ‘Still 1984’ and the sublime ‘Defao A2’ set him apart from other music out there.
