Between The Cracks: 5 New Releases You May Have Missed

With so much good music coming through thick and fast, it’s easy for brand-new music to drop online and go overlooked. To help prevent this, we’ve picked five albums you may have missed, but definitely, need to hear. Stream music from Mo Kolours, Sudan Archives, Chancha Via Circuito, Malphino and Clifford Brown, Jeen Bassa and Ella Mae Sueref. If you like what you hear, support the artists.

Mo Kolours – Inner Symbols

Mo Kolours quirky new album blends the traditional sega music of his father’s Indian Ocean homeland alongside records by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson. Added to the pot are hip-hop, dub, soul and other electronic styles.

Sudan Archives – Sink

The latest from Sudan Archives blends rich West African folk, cool violin riffs and lush RnB to brilliant effect. Listen and love and listen some more!

Chancha Via Circuito – Bienaventuranza

Released on the excellent Wonderwheel Recordings label, ‘Bienaventuranza’ is twelve tracks of Andean instruments (think lots of flute and charango), with danceable and digestible electronic beats.

Malphino – Visit Malphino

Malphino creates a kaleidoscopic seventeen-track collection of groovy cumbia blended with a heady mix of volcanic sounds. Their music serves as a cinematic score and backdrop to the mystical isle of Malphino and its ethos. Check out the album now – you won’t regret it!

Clifford Brown & Jeen Bassa Ft. Ella Mae Sueref – Samba Del Sol

Banoffee Pies Records drop their third Beats release “Samba Del Sol” with Clifford Brown & Jeen Bassa Ft. Ella Mae Sueref – The album is influenced by Carnival and Latin sounds with Hip Hop drums and Soul roots – meeting in middle ground as an expression of the production duos upbringing, John’s heritage in Mauritius and Cliffords childhood in South America. Partnered with Ella’s Spanish language fluency and soft Badhu acclaimed voice. Check out the album and if you want to pick up the limited edition vinyl, hit the link below – but be swift as there are not many left!
