Having stunned us in 2017 with not one, not two, but three incredible albums, it feels like it’s been a while since we’ve heard from Elsa Hewitt.
Thankfully, she’s back with a new EP called ‘Quilt Jams’; the name reflects its comforting atmosphere as well as the purpose, or lack thereof, behind its creation.
The 13-song project features mostly improvised in-the-moment or off-the-cuff compositions using guitar, vocals and loopers. This is music to get lost in, contemplative and deeply meditative.
Acting as the prelude to her upcoming and as yet untitled album it is Hewitt’s most modest piece of work and as always she’s sounding like no one else – the sound of beautifully crafted, dreamy ambiences, and lo-fi excursions.
One of the albums standout cuts for us was ‘Special’, and it is our pleasure to premiere the track.
