Back in late 2016, we were blown away by Italian musician, producer, DJ and composer Tommaso Cappellato second album Aforemention. The musical maverick returns later this week with Aforemention Remixed, a four-track EP featuring stellar reworks from the LP including the recently released R’n’Free single, which now boasts the vocals of London-based soul singer Natalie May.
Each re-interpretation came into being through a story of friendship, comradery or even random encounters – such as in the case of May who happened to be in the audience at Cappellato’s London show at Jazz Re:freshed, and improvised her soulful melody and recorded it straight onto her phone right then and there.
A match made in heaven, Cappellato’s soothing production serves as the perfect backdrop for May’s gorgeously uplifting and alluring musings.
The release also finds Alex Attias (featuring Mark de Clive-Lowe), Afrikan Sciences and Emanative getting busy on remix duties.
All we can say is stream below, and let the magic unfold.
