Los Angeles based record label Brainfeeder welcome UK producer Ross From Friends to the fold.
The lo-fi house artist otherwise known to his friends as Felix Clary Weatherall will make his Brainfeeder debut next month with new 4-track EP called Aphelion. As well as the upcoming EP a full-length album will drop on the label later this year.
Following on from top notch releases on Distant Hawaii and Lobster Theremin signing to the innovative label is a huge step forward for the hugely talented underground producer. “It’s honestly an absolute rush to sign to Brainfeeder,” says Weatherall. “It has always been pushing such a forward-thinking sound, one that constantly grabs my attention with every release. I put these four tracks together with Brainfeeder in mind.”
Talking about its lead track, ‘John Cage’, he explained “it originally began life as a tune for this goofy hip-hop project that me and my pal Guy from back home always do when he’s in London. That’s him freestyling a relaxation tape in the intro.”
Wonky lo-fi house? Whatever it is – it’s bloody good!
