This week we have a guest mix from Asta Hiroki. The young up and coming Brighton based producer and visual artist released his debut EP titled “Balance” on Jalapeno Records last year. The four-track project offered an eclectic selection of immersive tracks that took its cues from electronica, post-Dilla hip-hop, lo-fi, glitch, jazz and soul music. With a rich sound that is textural and deep with an ethereal quality usually found in film soundtracks, he’s an artist definitely one to look out for. The talented newcomer recently dropped a double A-side featuring vocals from Suzi Analogue and if you’ve not been acquainted with the release get involved here. For his exclusive Twistdsoul mix, he’s put together a diverse selection that moves from genre to genre over the musical landscape.
About the mix:
“Though it’s shorter than usual I tried to get a bit of everything my project is about in this mix. Jazz, Hip Hop, Downtempo and Electronica music that spans wonky grooves, found sounds, ethereal beautiful harmonies and minimalism. Big thanks to Twistedsoul for this – I hope you find it interesting and enjoy listening to it as much I enjoyed putting it together.” Asta Hiroki
