Annabel (lee) announce new album and share lead track

Annabel (lee)

It’s been a while since we last heard new music from Annabel (lee) the duo consisting of vocalist and producer Sheila and Richard Ellis. Their stunning debut album By The Sea . . . and Other Solitary Places, was one of our favorites of 2015 and having listened to their forthcoming record The Cleansing I think it’s safe to say it’ll be near the top of our end of year list.

Existing in the folds, shaking off the confines of a single genre the duo cast echoes of Billie Holiday and Antonio Carlos Jobim atop opaque shades of Debussy and Edgar Allen Poe.

Today we’re sharing “Far,” the first glimpse from the new LP. Subtle in its delivery, the simple yet effective acoustic arrangement will cast a spell upon you as the haunting vocal tones carrying us gently through the track.

Along with the new track, the pair has also shared a live rendition “Paris, Room 14″ which you can watch above.

Enjoy the single below and look out for more brilliance from the duo shortly!

The Cleansing is out on September 22nd via Youngbloods – pre-order from Bandcamp.
