Get acquainted with Sudan Archives, a 22-year-old self-taught violinist/vocalist who writes, plays, and produces her own music. The Cincinnati native who now lives in Los Angeles first caught our eye last year with her cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “King Kunta” which she reworked using just her voice, a violin and a loop pedal. Continuing to build on her early promise, Archives has shared two new songs the first “Time” is based on the story of Oshun, the West African Yorùbá Goddess of love, sweet water, and compassion. The second song “Show Me” is a demo track, unmastered, and straight from the studio.
