Following the release of his album Vienna Orchestra back in May, U returns with a special edition 2-track 12″ for Phantasy Sound. “Friendly Ghost” enters with a splay of combat-bongos, a thin synthetic aura draws over the fluctuating rhythms before a strangely negative bassline sets the pace in nu-wave perpetual motion, inevitably spiralling back on itself into a clattering reversal. On the flip “Ascension Hymn” is an epic track spanning 13 minutes. Only 300 copies of Friendly Ghost/Ascension Hymn 12″ were pressed. A digital version of the record will drop on December 9th.
