Honest Jon’s Howard Williams flips three obscure Japanese grooves

Japan Blues - Stoned Bird

Honest Jon’s Howard Williams flips three obscure Japanese grooves for the ‘floor on return to Berceuse Heroique one year after “The Brasserie Heroique Edits Part 2”. The opening cut “Spurned My Colour” trades in percolated synth voices and crashing Linn drums with a ruff-cut, ‘floor-ready flow coming off like some oriental On-U Sound oddity.  The closing track is a reworking of Pecker’s 1980’s jam “International Orchitis” spun out next to the filtered Taiko onslaught of “Beak”. Every tracks a winner but our favourite is the killer, African-inspired percussive groove of  “Stoned Bird”. Hit play below and pick a vinyl copy here.
