Good news folks, a new posthumous J Dilla compilation is on the way.
The album called “Dillatronic” which comes courtesy of Ma Dukes, and Vintage Vibez Music Group will feature over 40 rare instrumentals from the late, great producer.
“I can smile in my heart, knowing my son’s work is being shared with the people as we planned before he passed,” said Ma Dukes in a statement. “I only share the best, and I only hope to continue introducing the world to the genius of J Dilla.”
According to the press release, the collection will highlight Dilla’s various Detroit influences, including electronic music. “You can hear it in songs like ‘Raise It Up’ for Slum Village or ‘Make It Hurt’ for Busta Rhymes,” says Young RJ (Dilla’s protégé and a member of Slum Village). “The Detroit influence is part of what gave him an edge in production.”
The album will be available in several formats: vinyl, CD and deluxe packages that include bags, T-shirts, cassettes, posters, and more.
