Krondon & Shafiq Husayn are White Boiz

Strong Arm Steady MC Krondon and Sa-Ra producer Shafiq Husayan collaborate on new album for Stones Throw.

White Boiz formed initially out of mutual admiration, when Krondon would show up to performances by Husayn’s Sa-Ra collective unannounced, with “something good to puff on and good conversation and good vibrations,” Shafiq recalls with a laugh. Conversions on race and the state of blackness in white America ensued and the pair joined forces to form… White Boiz

Neighborhood Wonderful sets those talks to music—a 14-track conversation between the two. At times Afrocentric and Blaxploition, when Krondon raps “Me and Shafiq like Farrakhan meets Flying Lotus,” it’s in the midst of lines centering on both the streets and the spiritual.

The album features guest appearances from Brainfeeder’s Thundercat, Anderson PaaK, Chace Infinite and more.

Neighborhood Wonderful is out on October 2nd. Check out the intro video for the project below, directed by Mochilla’s Eric Coleman.
