The Leftovers

leftoversThings are moving super fast! A little too fast! We can’t keep up with all the good stuff that drops every day on the interwebs. While we try post every new track, album, mixtape, video, and MP3 download that we love on the site, it’s impossible to post everything, which means some quality newness gets missed. So, we serve up The Leftovers.

Little Simz dropped a new single “Is This Freedom?”produced Prezident Jeff & OZ. The track continues to see the rapper branch out in her artistry. It’s an introspective, slow-burning cut that Simz describes as ” a brand new chapter”. Listen to the song above; it’s cool.

Having recently signed to Domino Records, multi-instrumentalist Georgia and unveiled her first release for the label “Move Systems”. The Rollo Jackson directed visual captures the Georgia performing in a South London pool hall, a cosmetic shop and a beauty salon. Watch above.

SBTRKT has been busy recently and has released five new tracks to stream upon his Soundcloud. No word on whether these are from a forthcoming new album – but that’s almost irrelevant. Listen and enjoy.

This week Jay Z relaunched Tidal backed by a slew of A-list friends.  Kanye West, Rihanna, Coldplay, Madonna, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé and more threw their weight behind the rapper at a press conference on Monday where he unveiled the new look. “Tidal Premium” now matches Spotify’s Premium price at £9.99. That’s a full 50% price cut, and it puts one Tidal tier in-line with its main competition. But that low price comes at a cost: inferior music quality. The new subscription offers only “standard” quality audio: to get the “lossless high fidelity”quality streams, the company charges a monthly subscription of £19.99 – double its rivals. It is available in 31 countries, with six more to follow by the end of June.

After a lengthy break, Gallant returns with new music. Now signed with Mind of a Genius label,  new track “Open Up” serves as a teaser for his upcoming EP scheduled to drop this summer. Listen to “Open Up” above.
