Album Of The Week: Stream Rahel’s Debut Album ‘Alkali.’

rahel

New York-based singer-songwriter Rahel and Chicago producer Jeremiah Meece of The-Drum come together for some adventurous musical sounds. Rahel’s 10-track effort Alkali is unique, spaced-out R&B at its finest and is very much in heavy rotation over at Twistedsoul. There’s pop, hip-hop, electronic, and other elements blended within the project, providing a kind of experimental creation that somehow doesn’t sound experimental at all. Features on the project include hot up-and-comer DonChristian and Le1f. Some of my favorite tracks on the album are “Bae”, “Flutter”, ” Currents” and “Serve.” Rahel provides the beautiful vocals while Meece skills as a producer are exceptional and you’ll hear it throughout the album. These two were obviously born to make music together, and hopefully they’ll get back together in the studio soon. A quality debut and a promising sign of things to come. It has us looking forward to hearing her further expand on the unique sound offered here.
