Audio: Stompy’s Playground and LCV

Stompy

Stompy’s Playground are a London-based ensemble. They recreate electronic dance music using a combination of orchestral instruments, synthesiser and drum kit. The result is beautiful, exciting and unique. The music is both original material and remixes of producers’ works including Jon Hopkins, Dorian Concept, Modeselektor, Bonobo, Sohn, Cashmere Cat, Lusine, Flying Lotus, and SBTRKT. They have performed at prestigious venues including the Institute of Contemporary Arts, the Union Chapel, and the main stage at Shambala festival 2014. The twelve-piece ensemble have teamed up with the LCV (London Contemporary Voices) choir for a six-track EP reimagining tracks like Jai Paul’s  BTSTU and Squarepusher’s ‘My Red Hot Car‘ with Slum Village’s ‘Fall In Love‘. Stompy’s Playground are building bridges between the worlds of electronic dance and classical orchestral music.
