Well it’s been quiet some time since we’ve heard anything new from Bay Area band, The Seshen. Today the 7-piece collective made a welcome return with, “Unravel,” the title track from their forthcoming album.

“We’re an electronic band that loves many different kinds of music,” they told Thump. “We’ve been called soultronica, electro-pop, ‘hip-hop inspired’ even ‘world music.’ Angular-psychedelic-beat driven-electronic might be a good genre name for us, but we’re constantly changing how we do things and are pretty wary of being labelled.”

Whatever you want to call it, there’s no doubting, some artists make good music and some make unmistakably great music, when it comes to The Seshen it’s definitely unmistakably great.

Always willing to push the envelope, it’s tracks like this that drive music forward, and the beautiful blend of all these different, often-time segregated sounds into one song so special.
