A more than impressive collaborative LP entitled “YAHUDA” has just been unveiled by The Trp and Michael Tousana. Dropping the “I” from “Trip” — to symbolize the removal of the ego and individual from their work, the anonymous trio serve up a sound that is an ingenious mix of post-electric, hip hop and garage. It has moments of sublime tranquility and others of pure frenetic, rambunctious energy, it’s pretty amazing.

“‘Yahuda’ itself means praise, and it is also a really strong word, there is a lot of energy behind it. The album is about life moving forward, it’s got everything from pain to pleasure. It’s very introspective and emotional,” Tousana explained in a recent chat with Interview Magazine of the LP.

“The album progresses and has a story arc that follows what we see a lot of people our generation go through. We’re definitely a more conscious generation than the last and our aim was to capture that on wax,” The Trp adds.
