Video: The Decoders- Respect ft. Mara Hruby & Van Hunt

L.A. based production team The Decoders hook up with Mara Hruby and Van Hunt for their take on “Respect.” The song which was originally released by Otis Redding in 1965, was turned into a worldwide hit by Aretha Franklin two years later, but this version of “Respect” takes it cue from the 1969 cover released by psychedelic soul/jazz fusion band Rotary Connection featuring Minnie Riperton. The Decoders, along with guest vocalist Hruby and Hunt have done a fine job creating a wonderfully reimagined version of this classic soul record.

This track will be included on their upcoming full length album release, “Adventures From Paradise: A Tribute To Minnie Riperton” coming out later this year. Check out the video for “Respect” which gives an intimate look into their process of working on the song in the studio.
