Cocanha – Remenanuèch (TS Premiere)

Last week, we met, Cocanha, the French duo of Caroline Dufau and Lila Fraysse, for the first time. It was love at first listen, and we’re happy to say there’s more music on the way!

The duo recently announced the release of their third album, Flame Folclòre, dropping on May 15th via the always-on-point Bongo Joe.

As the press release explains, “Flame Folclòre is steeped in tradition and Occitan culture and refuses to be pinned to any single era. Cocanha have retained their core vocals-and-percussion sound, including the distinctive tamborin à cordes (a stringed drum).”

Along with the announcement came the first single, Clam, a track that bounces with infectious energy and surges with lyrics that fiercely challenge the French state’s suppression of the Occitan language. The song pulses with both defiance and the unbreakable spirit of cultural survival.

Today, we are thrilled to unveil Remenanuèch, the mesmerising second glimpse of the album.

Remenanuèch moves with a restless drive, its title reaching back to the drac of Occitan mythology, a creature known for its shifting forms and trickster energy. That spirit runs through the track’s intricately layered vocals, which overlap, interlock, and fold into one another with a kind of deliberate, spell‑like craft. The track seems to breathe and surge, powered by a rhythm refusing to be tamed.

Check out the track right now. Seriously. You won’t regret it.
