The Chicago-based, multi-disciplinary artist can boast an incredible amount of accolades and achievements that have been bestowed upon him throughout his career. This year however afforded Kouri with the notable milestone in the form of his debut full-length in ‘Mixed’. A fantastic piece of work that proved a stunning showcase to Kouri’s multi-faceted approach to both music and visual art. A beacon for improvised jazz and art that serves as powerful reflections of society, Kouri’s efforts resonate deeply within the rich Chicago lineage of the city’s soul music icons.
