This week, we’re showcasing new music from Ilhan Ersahin, Bastion Keb, Neue Grafik and more. Lap up these delectable treats.
Polish vocalist Marta Złakowska, known for her collaborations with the legendary Tricky, has just released her latest album, Out The Way. And, unsurprisingly, the album is filled with tracks that just hit different. Further proving and reaffirming to the world that her vocal ability is outstanding in its own right, Marta effortlessly flexes her musical prowess across the entire album. In tracks such as ‘Sea Beams’ and ‘Leave The Lights’, among others, her balanced yet powerful vocals immediately make a significant mark on listeners. Out The Way is a remarkable 9-track collection that not only cements Marta’s cool synergy with Tricky but also her talent as a solo performer.
We’ve had Ilhan Ersahin’s Galata / Karaköy on heavy rotation ever since its release last month. Taken from his forthcoming album, Ilhan Ersahin’s Istanbul Sessions, out in January, ‘Galata/Karaköy’ captures the essence of Istanbul’s historic districts, where the Golden Horn separates the ancient from the modern. Listen below, it’s brilliant!
A few months ago, neo-Turkish-psychedelic trio Islandman gave us a taste of their fifth album ‘Island5’ with the groove-laden track ‘Rüzgar‘, and now you can bask in the whole project. Packed with Tibetan bells, flutes, and Moog leads, the album reimagines Anatolia’s deep-rooted sounds through a modern lens. Enjoy ‘Island5’ in all its glory below!
London-based artist Fred N’Thepe, aka Neue Grafik, sets the scene for his new album ‘Rachael’ with the lush sounds of ‘Bold’. One of Grafik’s more laid-back tracks, the hypnotic cut features the soulful tones of Jerome Thomas. Look out for the new album, which is out early next year, but for now, dive into ‘Bold’ below.
If you’re looking for some warped anti-ballads or cool cinematic soul to take you into the weekend, then look no further than these three tracks from Bastien Keb. From his upcoming Ghouls album, set to release next month, Play Dead, Nighthawks and The City is Beautiful offer an entertaining glimpse into the project. We’re super excited to hear the rest of the record! Can’t wait for November 14th!
