Last week, London-based imprint Night Dreamer introduced the new visionary Amsterdam-based ensemble Stargazers and announced the release of their self-titled debut album. Drawing on the spiritual, freedom-driven sound of 1960s/1970s Black jazz, Stargazers breathe new life into the introspective, quietly crafted, and previously hidden musical diary of the ensemble’s orchestrator, saxophonist, flautist, and composer, Finn Peters. Women In Jazz’s ‘one song a month for a year’ series continues with British-Bahraini trumpeter and composer Yazz Ahmed.
