The Leftovers

Treat your taste buds to these mouthwatering leftovers!

Trying to keep up with the daily deluge of music is like trying to drink from a firehose. While we do our best to share all the good music that comes our way, some gems inevitably slip through the cracks. Thatโ€™s where The Leftovers features come in; each Friday, we serve up five tasty morsels that we couldnโ€™t let slip away into easily digestible snippets. This week, weโ€™re showcasing new music from The Offline, Da Lata, BaianaSystem and more. Lap up these delectable treats.

New track from The Offline. โ€˜Boulevard Nationalโ€™ is taken from his forthcoming 2nd full-length albumย ‘Le grande รฉvasion’,ย which is out onย Friday, 28th Novemberย viaย DeepMatter Records. Inspired by textures ofย Anatolian psychย andย West Coast surf, the song channels the pulse of a city alive with multiculturalism, contrast, and character.ย Enjoy!

Over five years have flown by since we first fell head over heels for the Levitation Orchestra’s debut track, ‘Clairevoyance’. The 10-piece jazz fusion collective hasn’t let up, with their latest track, ‘Embrace’, still packing all the orchestral instrumentation, cinematic soundscapes, and fierce improvisation that we love.

New single โ€˜Arenaโ€™ from Londoners Da Lata is a vibrant track, which combines a rolling, hypnotic 6/8 rhythm, lush keyboard washes and a rugged synth bass line complete with the vocals of Bรชmbรฉ Sรชguรฉ. The track is from their forthcoming new album, Edge Of Blue.

Eje Eje, the orbiting side project of ลžatellites founder and multi-instrumentalist Itamar Kluger, is set to share โ€˜Primordial Soup’, his second album on Batov Records, stirring an even wider pot of influences from East to West that defies genre. Listen to the lead track ‘The Bride’, a collaboration between Eje Eje and rising flautist, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Elad Kimhi.

Time to bust a move with BaianaSystem’s new track ‘Praia do Futuro’โ€”it’s almost impossible to resist the urge to sway your hips. The track features Seu Jorge, Antonio Carlos and Jocafi. Earlier this year, they released their album O Mundo Dรก Voltas in Brazil, and now they’re announcing it in Europe, along with the single. The band are also coming to London on 10th September for a show at Outernet – link here.
