Treat your taste buds to these mouthwatering leftovers!

We can barely contain our excitement over some fantastic new releases we want to share with you! We just haven’t had the time to whip up a full-blown article. So, we’ve dished them out in bite-sized portions through our “Leftovers” feature. Feel free to dig in and enjoy these five enticing treats.

Trumpeter Tom Gershwin shares the beautiful ‘Belong Here’ and announces the uplifting quintet LP Wellspring, reflecting on renewal and the natural world. It’s an awe-inspiring track from an upcoming album that I shall keep a close eye on.

Weird synth sounds and sizzling percussive rhythms in Stardust In Skins, the debut cut from Emanative & Sine Wave Sabre, will transport you to another planet. This mysterious first single from their forthcoming EP invites you into a celestial soundscape, where the boundaries of genre blur and the cosmos feels just a heartbeat away. The track is another example of why we always have our ears wide open when Emanative drops new music. Also, extra points for the uniquely “mammally” artwork.

Dhanya is a producer who’s been around for quite a while now, working with the likes of Juju Rogers, Mick Jenkins, Kiefer, and more. With ’To Be Found’, he steps out of the shadows to unveil his debut solo offering, making a grand entrance by teaming up with incredible vocalists anaiis, and Azekel. From the moment it starts, this track is a head-bobbing, toe-tapping delight. anaiis’ mesmeric vocals effortlessly sail over the pristine, soulful soundscape, forming a stunning contrast with Azekel’s moodier tones. It’s an absolute gem you definitely shouldn’t miss!

Jazz guitarist Jamie Leeming, known for collaborations with Alfa Mist, Tom Misch, and Jas Kayser, released his debut solo album ‘Resynthesis’ in 2022. He’s back with a new album, ‘Sequent’, and has just dropped the lead track, ‘Shore Embrace’. With Laura Misch lending her vocals, shimmering guitar arpeggios are paired with saxophone motifs tinged with lament, all driven by dusty drums, as Laura’s flowing vocals weave effortlessly above. Don’t sleep on this one!

Free-thinking creators Nate Mercereau, Josh Johnson, and Carlos Niño join forces for a brilliant merging of minds. Their upcoming album, Openness Trio, includes recordings from five unique sessions across Los Angeles and Ventura County, featuring locales such as the Ojai hills, an Elysian Park living room, Churchill Orchard’s Oak Tree Cathedral, an Echo Park courtyard, and beneath a Topanga Canyon pepper tree. The lead track, ‘Hawk Dreams’, is full of intricate details sure to please anyone with discerning musical taste.
