Berlin-based artists Sean Haefeli’s upcoming album “Flying Broken Form” is set to release on April 4th. The pianist-vocalist crafts his own melodies and pairs them with original lyrics, creating music that’s bursting with expression. Sean’s music dabbles in jazz, R&B, soul and hip hop as well as rap. His work often reflect on life, humanity and distinctive journeys.

Haefeli has released two tracks from the forthcoming album, “Drop” and “Ride to the Beat”. We’re now taking a deep dive inside “Battle Cry.”

The track starts with a steady percussive beat, followed by Haefeli’s gravelly tone intoning the lyrics. A steady synth sound joins the percussive beat as Haefeli picks up speed with his words. Soft piano in jazz arrangement joins the steady instruments as Haefeli calls out his battle cry.

Sonically the track is easygoing, catchy and a soothing rap song with melodic singing. However, the lyrics to Battle Cry hold a deeper meaning of living life and taking chances. Smooth vocals and steady rhythms make the song worth repeating over and over again. The composition is a celestial mix of rhythm, poetry and jazz instrumental arrangements. All these aspects make the song a total bop.
