New elegant and fragile track from Enji. The Mongolian-born, Munich-based artist marks the opening track of her upcoming third album, Sonor. โUlbarโ features a band of renowned jazz musicians (Elias Stemeseder on piano, Robert Landfermann on bass, Julian Sartorius on drums and co-composer Paul Brรคndle on guitar). Itโs a lovely track packed with emotion.
Chicago-based composer, improviser, multi-media artist and underground legend Rob Mazurek joins forces with modular-synth maestro and light magician Alberto Novello for a blacklight invocation that hurls us into new and uncharted sound dimensions. Born of a chance encounter, the improvised project, Sun Eaters, was recorded one afternoon at Dobialab in Northern Italy. Alberto laid down a rhythmic foundation while Rob added harmonious trumpet melodies, bells, and a sampler for the atmosphere.
Get ready to be inspired by the new track โArrowsโ from Sol Monk, the moniker of drummer and producer Aviv Cohen. This Track, a fusion of inspiring guitar lines, sparkling bass grooves, and subtle drum patterns framed with KerenDun’s ethereal vocals, is just a taste of what’s to come. Arrows is the first track from Monk’s highly anticipated upcoming album, New Moves, which is released next month.
The first single from ‘Tide & Timeโ, the new release by Amir Bresler and Nitai Hershkovits, is dedicated to Breslerโs firstborn son. The intro opens the door to a quiet jungle kingdom right out of a Kipling book with Gilad Abroโs steady hand on the bass, keeping us rocking gently. Tender brushes cast their spell while the piano paints a soft cradle for us to lie in.
Fans of Fred Moten & Brandon Lopez’sย work with drummer Gerald Cleaver will be thrilled by their forthcoming collaborative album. Between Lopez’s multifaceted bass approach (snarling arco, stuttering upright ostinatos) and Moten’s lush voice and varied delivery, not to mention his playful, funny and harrowing language, this is an incredible record of the duo that is set on exploration at the highest level.
