We’re thrilled to present another episode in our collaborative project with Twistedsoul which sees Colin Smith curate an incredible series this month showcasing the delectable selections of London-based electronic jazz duo, Kinkajous.
Last year they released their third album ‘Nothing Will Disappear’. Their previous records’ dark and introspective themes are filled in by a more colourful and directed approach. Led by drummer and producer Benoît Parmentier and saxophonist Adrien Cau, the duo is joined by Jack Doherty on synths/keys, Andres Castellanos on bass and Alan Keary on strings. Their music has always been a glorious fusion of electronic orchestrations and jazz aesthetics, sewn together with post-bop improvisation and modern electronic music. The cinematic soundscape of this album accentuates the dynamics of human nature, uncertainty and the byzantine interconnectedness of society and community. ‘Nothing Will Disappear’ is a power-driven and rejuvenating record from Kinkajous.
A massive thanks to Colin and Twistedsoul for this incredible series. Twistedsoul’s radio show airs Thursdays at 10pm, exclusive to Blue-in-Green:RADIO.
