Introducing Aliza, a new project consisting of Kutiman, Ouzo Bazooka, Dekel and Lala Tamar. Blending Levantine bass, futuristic Middle Eastern Dabke, Moroccan R&B, and fierce electronic beats into a deep, unifying musical experience rooted in tradition and forward-thinking. The quintet’s self-titled debut EP is out now via Siyal Music.

Free jazz and electronic, samba and funk find harmony in the latest offering from the brilliant mind of Kirk Degiorgio. This album is a lovely conversation among different cultures, rhythms, and grooves. Listen with an open mind and enjoy.

Vazesh is back with their stunningly intricate new album, Tapestry. Captured live just like their first album, this recording showcases not only the expanded repertoire of Vazesh’s musical colours but also the growing camaraderie and near-psychic connection among three virtuoso musicians, Sydney natives Jeremy Rose wielding bass clarinet and tenor/soprano saxophones, Lloyd Swanton on the double bass and Iranian-born Hamed Sadeghi on the tar. Listen to the opening track, Zircon, below.

New music from Dave De Rose always overflows with creativity and unexpected twists. On the upcoming Agile Experiments album ‘Loukoumades’, jazz vibes with post-punk, psychedelia, hip-hop, and dub offer an exciting array of styles and moods. Fans of Cannibal Ox or DJ Shadow in his Endtroducing era should be checking this out. Get a taste below, and look out for ‘Loukoumades’ which is out next month.

Berlin’s Moses Yoofee Trio unveiled their debut album MYT with a new track titled ‘WHIP.wav’. It is a wonderfully arranged, short, sweet piece of sophisticated jazz. Moses’ smooth piano melodies illuminate the dreamy vibes, and drummer Noah Fürbringer’s skilful rhythms synchronise perfectly with Roman Klobe-Barangă’s subtle bassline. The album will drop in early February under Nils Frahm’s LEITER label.
