Vocalist, composer, producer, and performer Holland Andrews is back with their latest EP, Answers. Released via Nils Frahm’s LEITER imprint, the new project showcases Holland’s remarkable talent and creativity. Answers strings together a series of releases that began rolling out in 2021. Standouts among these include the cathartic Wordless and the deeply meditative Forgettings. These earlier pieces, layered with meaning and rich in emotional resonance, set the stage for the breathtaking sound world that Answers provides.


 


Dive into the multisensory, minimalistic sonic universe of Daffodils & Dirt, the debut studio album from SAM MORTON. Who are the people behind the name SAM MORTON? The duo comprises the multitalented Samantha Morton, who has showcased her skills both as an actor and a director, and the music maestro Richard Russell. Their forthcoming album features guest appearances from Jack Peรฑate, Alabaster DePlume, Laura Groves and Ali Campbell (UB40).


 


The Kronos Quartet and a crew of talented collaborators have joined forces with Red Hot Org for the fourth album in a series celebrating the music and soul of the mighty Sun Ra. Collaborators include Laurie Anderson, Jlin, Laraaji, Armand Hammer, Terry Riley, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and more.


 


Mikahl Anthony, the founder of Chicago’s THEMpeople collective, is set to release his first album. From the tracks we’ve heard, this album is genuinely full of creativity and unexpected twists and turns that will delight listeners. Soulful vocals laced with social commentary intertwine with jazz harmonies, trap rhythms, hip-hop beats and psychedelic textures, creating an intriguing mix of styles and emotional tones.


 


London’s 18-piece Afro-Cuban jazz big band New Regency Orchestra has announced the release of a self-titled debut album on 14 June via Mr Bongo. NRO is the brainchild of its artistic director, Lex Blondin, the man behind Total Refreshment Centre and co-founder of Church of Sound. Ahead of the album, they’ve shared two electrifying and vibrant tracks.
