Twistedsoul Monday Mix: C. Diab

In the run-up to the release of his new album ‘Imerro’, Canadian bowed guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Caton Diab, aka C. Diab, has curated a Monday Mix. ‘Imerro’ finds Caton at his most expressive and free-spirited. Inviting the music to see him, almost by osmosis, preceding any preconceptions of playing any instrument he is unfamiliar with or regrets not learning during adolescence. This is music for wide screens: the result is an undeniably evocative, moving and mysterious voyage.

Much like his music, his mix is equally expressive and free-spirited. Moving from immaculately crafted ambient textures to blissed-out new age and otherworldly art-pop, you find it all waiting to serenade you into the day ahead. C. Diab talks about his mix below, with the full tracklist underneath.

“It’s Monday morning, waking before the sun rises, because it’s almost time to leave for work. Outside of the third floor bedroom window is the view of the city, the tower lights still shining yellow & red and softly reflected on the low hanging cloud & fog, & the sky appears a faint neon. The lights of the port flash and illuminate the apartment walls in bursts, soft white light like flashing cameras. Shadows from the steam funnelling out of the factory stacks along the water appear in each burst, & and it’s time to go.”
