So we’re in Turkey on holiday, so there is no Monday Mix this week. But fear not; we have a special guest mix for you all.
With their self-titled debut album on the way, MLDVA & Çınar Timur have gifted us with a lovely selection of Turkish inspirations to coincide with the release of the LP.
The band is from Poland, but the music on their upcoming album is a collection of re-interpretations of compositions by Turkish masters such as Baris Manco and Erkin Koray and many more. Deep grooves, hard-hitting drums, wandering Saz solos and more abound on the album, which arrives on 30th June via the ever-excellent Shapes of Rhythm.
Although we only recognised a few of the tracks here, we hope you enjoy this journey of discovery as much as we did. Press play and enjoy!
