The year is near to end, and Maddalena Ghezzi delivers some December goodness in the form of her upcoming Emerald EP.
The London-based singer, composer and improviser continue to break new ground with her Minerals’ series, which she comments “is a series of collaborations with musicians she loves with the aim of taking snapshots of varied collaborations in the present moment and to build, through the years, a compilation of meaningful exchanges.”
We believe Maria Chiara Argirò can do no wrong, so our interest was piqued when we heard the two were collaborating on this project.
The lead track, ‘on the outside’, fuses driving synth sounds while incorporating a peculiar yet hypnotic vocal, making for a fascinating listen. The track highlights both artists’ irresistible and impressive experimentation.
Watch the visual created by art collective Libri Finti Clandestini and photographer and filmmaker Tanguy Bombonera. It combines videos from archives, the web and more from the 1950s to the 1980s.
As part of the Emerald release, there is a limited edition of 10 handmade Concertina Errata folded (pictured below) by Clandestini in Milan and decorated by Ghezzi in London. Be quick and grab one for yourself here.
