Julie Campiche Quartet returns with 2nd album, You Matter

In November, the avant-garde jazz group Julie Campiche Quartet will release ‘You Matter’, an album of highly original and experimental compositions. These pieces explore themes of climate change, the refugee crisis, the patriarchy and human identity during these trying times.

The record features Julie Campiche (harp), Manu Hagmann (bass), Clemens Kuratle (drums), and Leo Fumagalli (saxophone).

Ahead of the album’s release on 4th November via ENJA Records, the quartet unveiled the lead single ‘Aquarius’. Taking its title from the boat, which was not allowed to rescue refugees from drowning, this 10-minute work is compelling, emotional, and stirring.

The quartet are heading to the UK for three live dates. You can catch the band at Cambridge Modern Jazz on 17th November. Also, Vortex Club as part of the London Jazz Festival on 18th November and Black Mountain Jazz Club, as part of the wall2wall Jazz Festival, Abergavenny on 19th November.
