Nightports announce new album with Tom Herbert and share first single

Nightports w/ Tom Herbert is the third in a series of collaborative albums, following Nightports with Matthew Bourne in 2018 and Nightports with Betamax in 2020.

It sees musician-producers Adam Martin and Mark Slater team up with Tom Herbert, who made his name as the bass player in Mercury Music Prize-nominated bands Polar Bear and The Invisible.

The versatility of the double bass is well demonstrated by Nightports and Tom Herbert. Herbert’s articulate melodic lines are one of the most compelling elements on the album because of the emotional resonance they evoke. ‘Arcs’ is a great example of that, which is out now, and accompanied by a video which you can watch above.

You can pre-order the album here ahead of its release on 29th April; check out the artwork and tracklisting below.

Nightports is about amplifying the characteristics of the musician – celebrating what’s particular about them, finding sounds that nobody else can make, constructing a complex sonic weave that, however radical the transformations, still bears the watermarks of its origin.
