We are starting the day with some fresh jazz sounds. This morning we bring you the dreamy and intricate sounds of Jamie Leeming.
Along with announcing his debut solo long-player ‘Resynthesis‘ via Alfa Mist’s Sekito imprint. Leeming has shared the lead track ‘Shinkansen’.
Creating a soundscape that’s a patchwork of sinuous sax voicings and enchanting guitar themes, ‘Shinkansen’ is a tasty preview to ‘Resynthesis’.
There is a broad range of ethereal, evocative, and contemporary sounds spanning the record with contributions from Hugo Piper on guitar, Laura Groves on vocals, Quinn Oulton and Nathaniel Facey (who plays on the lead track) on saxophone.
The album explores memory, with the title ‘Resynthesis‘ itself referring to the reconstructive nature of memory and how the recall process can be affected by personal knowledge and views. Artist Kaya Thomas-Dyke provided the artwork for the album, which includes references to many of the memories the album is inspired by.
